Procurement and Contracts

Our Procurement & Contracts department work internally as well as with our Client Councils on the procurement of millions of pounds worth of goods, supplies, services and works each year. The team also provide proactive contract management support to ensure value for money is achieved at every element of the procurement lifecycle.

They are focused on delivering a high-quality service and achieve this through professional procurement advice, having efficient processes in place and effectively managing and negotiating contracts across PSPS and our client Councils. They provide detailed spend analysis, seeking potential efficiencies through joint procurement exercises and managing categories of spend.

They have a drive to continuously improve and are regularly meeting with suppliers interested in supplying to the Client Councils to explain any queries relating to the Public Sector Procurement process and noting any ways that the process can be simplified in the future. Social Value is a key driver for the Client Councils and, therefore, is a key focus in a large number of our procurement projects.

The team enjoys a close working relationship with internal colleagues and our client Councils which enables them to be involved in projects at the earliest point to add value from the outset. This helps to achieve value for money contracts being awarded.
